Growth despite adverse environment: In a very demanding economic environment, M-Industry was still able to hold its own in 2011, and win market share. Despite a general decline in prices and the negative foreign currency effects, it was encouraging to see that sales were nevertheless slightly up (+0.3 per cent) on the previous year, at CHF 5.333 billion. Real growth amounted to 2.8 per cent. Business with the Migros Group was impacted by substantial price reductions, and ended 0.9 per cent down on the year before. By contrast, the bulk consumer business continued to record good growth, increasing by 6.8 per cent to CHF 627 million. Sales in the international business grew by a substantial 15.0 per cent to CHF 492 million after currency adjustments (in CHF by 3.6 per cent).

Gradually all the assortments are to be produced according to these criteria.
